As Keynai plays, his arm (obviously) moves, which causes the collar of his shirt to do the same and each time he lowers his arm, part of a scar becomes visible.

Keynai freezes just as he is about to start another tune. He brings his hand up and touches the scar. Keynai shakes his head no.
He watched as his father went around the house screaming and yelling and all because he'd been out a bit too late with his friends. It, however, wasn't done on purpose. They'd ran out of gas on the way back. They'd had to walk the rest of the way home. He was afraid of his father, who was on the verge of becoming crazy anyways. It was all because he couldn't get over the years he fought in the war when he was younger. He'd often carry around knives and throw them when he heard noise. He heard his father slam his fists on the kitchen table and flinched. It brought back even more unwanted memories. He walked into the kitchen to find his father with one arm under the table and one arm resting on top. He touched his father's shoulder. His father quickly spun, obviously startled, and that's when he saw the flash of a knife. His father brought it up and cut Keynai from thigh to collar bone.
Keynai had never blamed his father for most of what he'd done; the war had changed him. Yes, he was always abusive, but he never would have done what he had that day if he hadn't become paranoid. Keynai ran away at eleven for a couple days but when he came back, the house was up for sale. He never knew where his parents had gone or why they'd left but he'd hated them ever since, especially since they never even went looking for him. He was left to survive on his own.

Nikolai poses with his hands on his hips and head facing sideways and up. He speaks in a joking voice. It's why the ladies are so attracted to us. Rakes his fingers through his hair.
Jannike laughs. You make it look like you're so full of yourself.
Nikolai looks at her and raises and lowers his eyebrows. Or is it how I really am? Grins.
Jannike laughs.

Keynai is silent but the answer is clear in his eyes.

Abbie: *gives an innocent grin* I don't know what "attracted to us" means in your book, I believe the word sequence you are searching for is "repelled by us'

Mikhail puts his hand over his heart and gives her a painful look. He sarcastically says, My dear, why so hostile?
Nikolai Then why are you still here? Gives her a playful grin and raises and lowers his eyebrows again.

Peyton: I think it's time we get going if we are going to make it to Cole's gig.

Zane: Okay. Can you go tell Katie?

Peyton: I nod. I go to the library and peak in first then I go to her room, I finally go outside and find Katie sitting in the grass. Katie, it's time to go!

Katie: I look back at her and silently sigh. I turn back to Keynai. We are going to watch my friend Cole's band play. Would you like to come with us? I ask, not wanting to leave him out.

Katie: I will show you where you can put it. I lead him to a hall way of doors. Some doors had little signs hanging from the doorknob. The doors with the little signs are taken the other doors are free rooms.
