I have two options wulfa.....put my dog down.....or surrender him to an animal shelter where they will see if he is adoptable and if he isn't they will put him down and not be able to tell us at all.....

Here's what I'll tell you... Sigh. When we found out Odie was possibly poisoned,we had two options.Put him to sleep or have the vet do something to him and have Odie stay alive a bit longer...It was a hard choice,but we had to put him to sleep.He would only suffer the other way...Either way,he'd die.If I had the choice to go back and choose not to go to the vet with my dad,I would.I'd rather not know what happened to him until my dad got back rather than be there and go through all that...I believe that because I went,I made it harder on myself.I still cry when I talk about this or if someone mentions Odie's name.Now,I'm sure I'd do that whether I went to the vet or not,but...It hurts even worse knowing that I was there and couldn't help him at all.That I had to choose whether he'd stay alive a bit longer or be put down.

So now I have a question...Do you want to know your dog was put down and had no chance or do you not want to know what happens and hope he had the chance Odie hadn't?

Well the problem is I think I'll drive myself crazy not knowing if he's alive or not.....and he's food agressive and as multiple people have said- a mental case....he probably won't have a second chance there is probably a 99.9 percent chance he won't be adoptable.....

How close are you to him? I knew Odie all my life.I grew up with him.So you can only imagine how hard it was and still is on me.Let that determine what you want to do.If you're close to him like I was to Odie,I say send him to the pound.Save yourself the pain.If not,do what you feel is right.
