The dog has long fangs,a yellow liquid dripping from them.It's tail splits into five with spikes at the ends.It's claws are huge,a tad too big for it's body.

Ilarion Guys! You may want to come look at this!

Mikhail was first to get up and walk to Ilarion.

The dog from the night before is laying on the ground dead.It looked like it had tried to fight something and got shook like a ragdoll.

Mikhail The muttations don't usually kill eachother.Only if food is scarce,which it isn't. He looks it over. It was killed this morning.It woke us up at about 2.This seems to have been killed at about 4.

Ilarion There's a trail of blood going all around the den and back out into the forest.As you can see,it actually circled this before heading to the den.

Mikhail I noticed.

Kapsirko Footprints,but no blood.

Ilarion and Mikhail look at him.

Kapsirko walks over to a place where the mud was a bit damp.The footprints are very faint.

Mikhail The blood trail couldn't have been the attacker's,then.It must not have been hurt and if it was,not very bad.

Ilarion Not many of the muttations are bigger than this.It has to be something new.

Mikhail Maybe.

Bushes rustle.

They all look up.

A boy about 14 runs out and into Ilarion.

Ilarion What the? Get off of me!

Kapsirko takes the kid by the shirt and pulls him to his feet.

The boy looks at them in fear.

Mikhail What happened to your ears?

The boy looks at Mikhail.Half of one ear is gone along with the tip of his other. Something came out of nowhere and attacked me! And what is going on?!

Mikhail We'll explain that later.Now tell us about the animal you saw.

The boy shakes his head. I didn't get a good look at it.I ran away not wanting to get killed!

Kapsirko But you did see it?

The boy It was about five times the size of...whatever that is. Points to the dog.

Mikhail Five? Makes me wonder what our captors are up to.

Ilarion What's your name?
